|
|
Being a cafe administrator my job is to help my cafe customers to transfer their files to a central server from where they can take the print or burn a CD for the information they have collected over the net.
I am transferring some files for one of my customer, I just cut and pasted them to a shared folder in central server.
There are 13 files, but one file which is most important fails to open and crashing word.
I tried opening it on other PCs but alas !! it shows error and ms word crashes. I suspect there may be a virus so, I scanned it using multiple antivirus but none of then shows any traces of virus.
Please help. If I am unable to help my customer I may loose some of my customers. I also really want to learn, how to recover data from corrupt word documents.

As you had mentioned earlier that your word fails to open due to some corruption. You can access your corrupted word file by using Open and Repair option in microsoft word.
You can use Open and repair option as follows:
1. Start Microsoft Word
2. Go to File menu
3. Select Open and open dialogue box appears
4. Select the file
5. Click the arrow shown on the right side of the Open button and then following screen appears
6. Select Open and Repair option
Now you can access your corrupt word file. |
